Our History
Stoke Row Village Hall stands on land bequeathed to the residents of Stoke Row in 1914. The donor’s vision, as stated in The Indenture, was for “a room for the purpose of any recreation which the Trustees in their discretion may think desirable.” Originally, the hall served as a meeting place for local soldiers returning from the First World War, providing them with a community hub. Over the years, the hall has evolved with the needs of the village, even operating as a temporary Post Office at one point.
In 1964, H.R.H. Prince Philip shared a lunch with older members of the village, held at the hall as part of The Maharajah’s Well Centenary Celebrations.
